The Eau Claire Board of Trade was founded in 1879. Its goals were to foster and promote “all the material interests” of Eau Claire by unifying the actions of local businessmen and residents. Additionally, the organization sought to develop local resources, encourage business growth, and diversify economic activity in the city.
