Content Description

The William R. Davies Papers consist primarily of published materials documenting his career as a school principal and superintendent.  Yearbooks from high schools in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Shawano, Wisconsin, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and Superior, Wisconsin comprise the bulk of the collection.  The Circular, the newsletter of the Superior Public Schools, documents administrative and professional development activities for teachers in the 1930s.  Other materials include clippings and assorted family papers: Davies’s father’s immigration narrative, his daughter’s baby book, and his wife’s notes from a choral class presumably taught at the Wisconsin State Teachers College (Eau Claire).
