This guide will help you import quizzes from Microsoft Word into Canvas using the Canvas Community Effortless Quiz Creation article. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth process.
Format Word Document
Before uploading your quiz to the converter, it must follow a specific format. Copilot can help you:
- Reformat questions from any layout into the required structure.
- Ensure consistent numbering and lettering for questions and answers.
- Convert tables or bullet points into plain text format.
Example Input (Incorrect Format)
1. Q1: What is the capital of France?
- Berlin
- Paris
- Marseille
Correct Format
- What is the capital of France?
- Berlin
- !Paris
- Marseille
Refer to the Canvas Community Effortless Quiz Creation article for examples of formatting. The following are required for multiple choice:
- Questions must be numbered and followed by a period (e.g., 1.).
- Answer choices must be labeled with lowercase letters followed by a closing parenthesis (e.g., a)).
- There must be an exclamation point before the correct answer (e.g., !Paris).
- Include a blank line after each question block.
- Image files are accepted in the question stem and answer responses.
- The saved file must be in .docx format.
