Overview
Converting document types is common practice to ensure file compatibility across different devices, enhance security, and reduce file sizes for sharing. Common reasons for file conversions include editing, archiving and printing.
Considerations
- Documents are most accessible in their native format. When possible, keep a documents type to the standard for the software being used to export.
- Changing PDF into editable formats allows for data and content modification, and extraction.
Steps
Export PDF to Microsoft Word
- Select Menu, and then Export a PDF

- Select Microsoft Word, then Word Document

- Navigate to where you'd like to download a Word version of your PDF. Select Save
- A new window will open with the .docx file type. Remediate document following standard Word remediation.
Export Microsoft Word to PDF
- Select File

- Navigate to where you'd like to download a PDF version of your Word Document. Select Save
- A new Window of Adobe Acrobat will populate. Edit or remediate the PDF following standard PDF remediation procedure.
