Overview
Setting document language in Adobe Acrobat Pro is essential for screen readers to correctly pronounce content.
Considerations
- Multi-language Support: for documents with multiple languages, you can set the language for specific tags in the tag tree by opening the tag properties and selecting the language.
- OCR Language: When converting scanned documents to text, select the appropriate language in the "Recognize Text" settings to ensure accurate accessibility

Setting Document Language with Accessibility Checker
- In the Tools tab, select Prepare for Accessibility
- Select Check for Accessibility
- Expand the Document Section, check if Primary Language is Failed

- Right click on Primary Language - Failed, select Fix

- Choose the document language, select OK

- Select Menu
- Select Document Properties

- Navigate to the Advanced pane

- Set Language to language of document

- Select OK
