The following are instructions on how to create a new project in Adobe Express.
Considerations
- These instructions are for the Adobe Express online version, to which all UWEC members have access.
- Even if entering Express through the CC suite, it will take you to the online version.
Instructions
Create a project from scratch
With Adobe Express, you can create a blank project and design it however you want.
Steps for creating a project from scratch
- On the left side of the screen, there will be a side bar. At the top of that tool bar, there will be a blue circle with a white plus sign in it. Click on that icon.

- Select the desired size and type of your project (Templates, photos, videos, design assets, backgrounds, text layouts, webpage templates, or stickers) and Express will create it for you.
- From here, you can start editing or choose from existing templates.
Creating a project from a template
Express has thousands of templates to choose from to create your project.
Steps for creating a project from a template
- On the sidebar on the Adobe home page, there should be an icon labeled “Templates,” which looks like a lightning bolt inside of a rectangle, click on that.
- In the Explore Templates page, there will be different tabs to select different types of media. Select the type of media from the list: Templates, photos, videos, design assets, backgrounds, text layouts, webpage templates, or stickers.
- Apply any desired filters—make sure you are searching for a template in your desired size.
- When browsing for templates, they will have icons that tell you some information about the template.

- Click on the template that you would like to use, and hit “Customize template”
- From here, you can edit the template however you like.
