Overview
Notes and comments provide text equivalents for visual indicators such as asterisks or color cues.
Considerations
-
Treat notes like alt text for cells.
-
Keep descriptions concise and equivalent to the visual meaning.
-
Notes are more navigable than comments for screen readers.
Steps
-
Select the cell with a visual indicator.
-
Right-click and select New Note.
-
Enter a description (e.g., “*: Local student”).
-
Repeat for all cells with special meaning.
