Blugold Love Memorial Award
The Blugold Love Memorial Award is in honor of two Blugolds, Tim Lauer and McKinley Lukes, who were a part of the UW-Eau Claire Campus Ambassador family, and strong leaders and members of our campus community. They left us too soon, however they leave behind the reminder that we should lift each other up and leave this world better than we found it. This scholarship rewards a student who demonstrates that same passion for engagement, academic pursuit, and compassion. This award will be given to a Campus Ambassador who has served as an Ambassador for at least one year. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. **Please note - a history of event participation will be provided by advisers to the selection committee. This award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Blugold Spirit Award
The Blugold Spirit Award recognizes a student who demonstrates daily support of and enthusiasm for the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Nominees regularly support campus programs; engage with students, faculty, and staff; maintain a positive and friendly attitude; and demonstrate pride in being a Blugold. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Blugold Spirit Award is sponsored by U.S Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Domestic Immersion Leadership Award
The Domestic Immersion Leadership Award is presented to one student that has participated in the National Student Exchange program. Nominees have demonstrated a desire for individual growth, commitment to learning and understanding a new culture, involvement in opportunities within their new environment to help benefit themselves and others, and have helped bring their perspective back to campus to promote the program as an opportunity while encouraging other Blugolds to consider a domestic exchange. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Domestic Immersion Leadership Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Emerging Leader Award
The Emerging Leader Award recognizes a student who is a first or second year student who has already demonstrated enthusiasm for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Nominees have already committed to the campus and/or community in a meaningful way and have shown strong leadership promise for the future. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Emerging Leader Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for $1200.
Excellence in Community Service
The Excellence in Community Service Award recognizes a student who goes above and beyond to give back to their surrounding community. Nominees have surpassed the Service Learning requirement with a strong dedication to a cause or causes within the community, while sharing their passion with others. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Excellence in Community Service Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one person for the amount of $1200.

The Excellence in Diversity Award is presented to one student whose actions, perspectives and engagement demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Excellence in Diversity Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one person for the amount of $1200.
Excellence in Environmental Sustainability Award
The Excellence in Environmental Sustainability Award is presented to one student who demonstrates
(1) an awareness of the costs of present choices to future generations,
(2) a commitment to improving campus/community sustainability in the present, and
(3) a commitment to creating a sustainable future.

Nominees will have, for example, made meaningful contributions to campus sustainability projects, or represented the campus in a community-wide sustainability project; they may have contributed to sustainability education on campus, or in their current research and writing, demonstrated an understanding of “sustainability” as a cross-disciplinary concept.

Excellence in Global Awareness Award
The Excellence in Global Awareness Award is presented to one student who has demonstrated a commitment to learning about multicultural perspectives and his or her role as a citizen in a connected world. Nominees seek to understand ethnic and cultural diversity and challenge themselves to move outside boundaries of comfort. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Excellence in Leadership Award is presented to a student who has made meaningful contributions through exemplary service, commitment, and leadership to the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and/or the surrounding community. Nominees create a positive impact on the campus and community, and inspire action in others. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Excellence in Scholarly & Creative Activity Award is presented to one student who demonstrates creativity, initiative, self-reliance, perseverance, and depth of disciplinary knowledge in the execution of one or more scholarly projects. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Excellence in Scholarly & Creative Activity Award is sponsored by the U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Giraffe Leadership Award
This Giraffe Leadership Award is granted to an undergraduate or graduate student who is dedicated to standing up for social justice issues on campus or in the greater community. Nominees contribute through their actions, initiatives developed, or the written word encouraging the community to work on behalf of those in underrepresented populations, or on behalf of issues relating to social justice. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Giraffe Leadership Award is sponsored by U.S Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Non-Traditional Student Leadership Award
The Non-Traditional Student Leader Award is presented to one non-traditional student who has demonstrated great promise, outstanding achievement, or creativity in their chosen field. Nominees also contribute positively to the campus community through University involvement. Students must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Non-Traditional Student Leader Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Outstanding LGBTQIA+ Student Leader Award
The Outstanding LGBTQIA+ Student Leader Award recognizes contributions to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning community achieved by a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at UW–Eau Claire. Nominees have demonstrated service to the University LGBTQIA+ community, efforts toward improving the climate and well being of LGBTQIA+ people at the University, active involvement in increasing the visibility of LGBTQIA+ issues and concerns within the University community, and active participation in educating the University community on LGBTQIA+ issues and concerns. The LGBTQIA+ award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Outstanding Student Employment Award
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire values students who are able to integrate classroom learning with real world application. The Outstanding Student Employment Award recognizes a student who has not only met but exceeded this notion. Nominees have fully lived up to the mission of the university by applying their liberal education to their place of employment. They have worked diligently within their role and actively take initiative within the work environment, while balancing the expectations of being a student. Nominees must be in good academic standing, be registered both semesters of the current academic year, and have worked at their place of employment for at least one semester. The Outstanding Student Employment Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Residence Hall Leadership Award
The Residence Hall Leadership Award recognizes a current residence hall student who has made a positive contribution to the residence hall community. Nominees demonstrate leadership skills and exemplary service, and have contributed to residence hall organizations. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered for both semesters of the current academic year. The Residence Hall Leadership Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank an anonymous donor and will be awarded to one student for the amount of $1200.
Roma Hoff Outstanding Advisor Award
The Roma Hoff Advisor Award is presented to one honor society organization advisor who consistently supports the efforts of honor society members. Dr. Roma Hoff taught Spanish at UWEC from 1965 until her retirement in 1996. Roma was a passionate supporter of our campus's honor societies and helped institute the Honors Banquet that would recognize the accolades of our campus's scholars. Her family has developed this award to honor her by recognizing others' commitments to scholarship, student development, and most importantly, UW-Eau Claire. The Roma Hoff Advisor Award is sponsored by the Hoff Family and will be awarded to one current honor society advisor for the amount of $500.
Student Organization Advisor Award
The Student Organization Advisor Award recognizes an organization advisor who takes an active role in empowering and involving students within the organization. Nominees provide outstanding counsel and advice, assist with the development of leadership, direct the business of the organization in a positive and helpful manner, support the ideals of the organization, and serve as a role model for members. Last year’s winner is not eligible for this year’s award. The Student Organization Advisor Award is sponsored by U.S. Bank.
Student Organization Award
The Student Organization Award recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated exemplary service to the campus and community through programming and outreach. Applicants contribute to the welfare of the campus and surrounding community through inclusive, creative, collaborative, and resourceful efforts, and responsible stewardship. Organizations must be in good standing and recognized by Student Senate. Last year’s winners are not eligible for this year’s awards. The Student Organization Award is sponsored by the U.S. Bank and will be awarded to one organization for the amount of $1200.
