Kaltura: Accessing Caption Editing Tool

Overview

This article demonstrates how to access the Caption Editing Tool within Kaltura/MyMedia. With recent upgrades to the captioning vendor, the Caption Editing Tool can be found in two locations. 

Considerations

• Each media entry has access to the Caption Editing Tool. 

How to access

Caption Tab

1. Click on the Edit icon within My Media. You can access Edit by clicking on the pencil icon associated with a specific video. 
   • 
2. Under Edit, select the “Captions” tab. Then select the “Edit Captions” button
   • 
3. Review the captions using the Captioning Editor and hit save when changes are complete. 

Actions Button 

1. In your MyMedia portal, click on the name of the video. 
2. Under the video player, select the Action Button. 
3. Drop down to Caption + Enrich. 
4. In the Existing Requests box, select the Editing Icon (pencil) associated with the caption file.
