MS Office Activation Error: 7q6ch

Steps to resolve this Office activation issue on Windows:

  1. Sign out and close all Office apps including Teams and OneDrive. Make sure you are not signed into Office with a personal account before closing the Office apps.
  2. Empty folder c:\users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache
  3. Empty folder c:\users\<usersname>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef
  4. Rename folder c:\users<usersname>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\IdentityCache to IdentityCacheOld
  5. Rename folder c:\users<usersname>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneAuth to OneAuthOld
  6. Navigate to Credential Manager, under "Windows Credential" remove anything related to Microsoft
  7. Navigate to Accounts, "Access work or school account" and disconnect the pc if it's connected.
  8. Navigate to Control Panel>Apps>Programs&Features>Uninstall a program>Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise>Modify/change>Online Repair and click on repair.
  9. Open an admin PowerShell prompt and run "dsregcmd /ForceRecovery"
  10. In the same admin PowerShell prompt, paste this command and run it:

if (-not (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin)) { Add-AppxPackage -Register "$env:windir\SystemApps\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\Appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode -ForceApplicationShutdown } Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin

   11. Launch word and sign-in with the users' credentials
