Overview
The OneDrive sidebar is a tool for navigating the use of your Office 365 OneDrive (online portal). It includes Home, My Files, Shared, Favorites, and Recycle Bin.
Considerations
- The photo examples are from the web-based version.
- Desktop versions on Mac and Windows will look different.
Sidebar Explanation
Home
Home is where your recent files populate—it gives you easy access to things you have been working on.
My Files
My files is where the files that you have created are stored—this is where you can create folders and organize your files.
Shared
Shared is where you can find files that have been shared by you or with other people. Because shared files are owned by another person, you are unable to move them into My Files.
Favorites
You can favorite certain files; they will populate here and also be marked with a star under “home.” Files and folders found under My Files and Shared can be favorited.
Recycle Bin
Recycle Bin is where deleted files are temporarily stored; they are stored for 93 days before deletion.
