Attach a file to any e-mail.

Attach a file to an e-mail

To attach a file before sending your message, do the following. 

  1. See 'Outlook: Create and Send an E-mail' to learn how to open a new e-mail.
  2. Before sending, select Insert Attach file to add an attachment.
    • Browse this computer finds files in your computer storage and shows the file content on the e-mail.
    • Select OneDrive to find files from your OneDrive.
    • Select Upload and share to insert the download link to the file on the e-mail.
    • Select Link to insert a URL link with a display title.
    • There's a section of the dropdown labeled 'Suggested files.' This takes your last three files accessed and displays them.

  3. After you finish composing your message, select Send.
