Overview
Accessible hyperlinks clearly describe their destination so users know what to expect before activating the link.
Considerations
- Use descriptive, concise hyperlink text.
- Avoid vague phrases like “click here” or “more info.”
- Do not use raw URLs as link text.
- Ensure the surrounding text provides context.
- Regularly check for broken links.
Steps
Windows (PC App)

- Highlight the text.
- Right-click and select Link.
- Paste the URL in the Web address field.
- Select OK.
Outlook 365 (Web)
- Highlight the text.
- Right-click or go to Insert > Link > Insert hyperlink or select the link button.
- Paste the URL.
- Select OK.
macOS / iOS

- Highlight the text.
- Right-click or go to Insert > Hyperlink or select Command (CMD)+K.
- Paste the URL.
- Select OK.
