Outlook: Use of Color

Overview

Color should enhance readability without being the sole method of conveying information.

Considerations

• Ensure strong contrast (4.5: 1 ratio) between text and background.
• Do not rely on color alone to convey meaning.
• Combine color with text labels, bolding, or symbols.

Steps

1. Go to Review > Check Accessibility.
2. Adjust colors using the Font Color button as needed.
3. Select text and update Font Color or Shading.
4. Use Design > Themes with strong contrast.
