Qualtrics: Adding Embedded Data to Survey Flow

Overview

If you are using a Contact List to distribute a survey, the embedded data will need to be connected to the survey. This guide demonstrates how to add embedded data from a Contact List to the Survey Flow. 

Considerations

• Setting these values allows this information to be captured in the results and responses once students have completed the course evaluation.  
• Embedded data is helpful when filtering responses or conducting data analysis. 

Steps for Adding Embedded Data to Survey Flow

1. In the survey, go to Survey Flow.  
2. Select the +Add a New Element Here.  
3. Select Embedded Data.  
4. Set embedded data as Text set, or it will not allow filtering in the results.  
5. Click on the options tab in the lower right corner of the Set Embedded Data box and select Text Set.  
6. Select Add from Contacts (found at bottom of Set Embedded Data box).  
7. Import embedded data from the contact list by selecting Please select>My Library>Contact List.  
8. Select the embedded elements you wish to embed within the contact list or select all the elements.  
9. Move the Set Embedded Data box to the top of the Survey Flow.
