Overview
As of December 1, 2025, Qualtrics will no longer develop improvements for Contact List Triggers, located in Post Survey Options. As of this date, any active contact list triggers will no longer run. This article has information on how to identify if a survey is using Contact List Triggers in the post-survey tool and how to change Contact List Triggers to a Contact List Workflow.
Considerations
- This change means that no contacts will be added to the selected contact list assigned to a survey.
- Qualtrics strongly recommends not using contact list triggers, as they may not behave as intended.
- For the same functionality with added improvements, replace Contact List Triggers with Contact List Workflows.
- This change does not affect Contact Lists being used for Distribution. It only affects Contact Lists created after a survey is completed.
- Check an older survey to ensure it is using Contact List Triggers.
- Newly created surveys cannot have Contact List Triggers added.
How to Check for Contact List Triggers
- Go to your survey in Qualtrics.
- Navigate to Survey Options.
- Select the Post-Survey section.
- Under Manage contact list triggers, click Edit triggers.
- Review the list of triggers associated with your survey and note which contact lists are being used.
- Recommended actions:
- If Contact List Triggers appear, please change them to Contact List Workflows.
- If the Contact List Triggers do not appear, no additional changes are necessary at this time.
