Objective

The purpose of this practice directive is to identify the multiple resources and procedures pertaining to UW-Eau Claire (UWEC) student employees to simplify and define a workflow for the hiring of students.

Statement:

In accordance with UW System Administrative Policy 1237, Student Employment , all UW System (UWS) institutions must comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.  
This requirement includes, but is not limited to, compliance with Affordable Care Act (ACA), Federal Work Study (WS), eligibility guidelines, general UWS and UWEC workplace and employment policies and procedure.  
To ensure compliance in the hiring of students, refer to the corresponding policies and procedures referenced in this practice directive.
