Risk Management & Safety: Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
Last Updated
The Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan is to minimize the risk of occupational exposure to potentially contaminated blood and bodily fluids. A combination of awareness, training and education including personal protective equipment (PPE), vaccinations, engineering controls, and administrative work practices will be used to minimize and prevent exposure. In addition, this plan describes the University Bloodborne Pathogens Program administered by the Department of Risk Management, Safety and Sustainability (RMSS).
Individual departments and units of the University will be responsible for ensuring that the provisions of the University’s Exposure Control Plan and the mandates of the OSHA regulation are carried out as appropriate for the campus.
